What is sugaring?
The History
Sugaring is a hair removal method that predates waxing. It was developed and practiced by ancient Egyptian women.
The Paste
The sugar paste is made out of 3 ingredients: sugar, lemon juice, and water. It is spread onto the skin at room temperature and removed with a flick of the wrist, eliminating the need for the strips used in waxing.
The Benefits
• Very gentle on the skin: with only natural ingredients and no harsh resins, sugaring is appropriate for those with sensitive skin
• Fewer ingrown hairs than waxing: sugar paste is removed with the direction of hair growth, causing less hair breakage and fewer ingrown hairs
• Long lasting: hair is removed from the root, keeping you hair free for weeks to come
• Environmentally friendly: using no strips or sticks, the process creates very little waste
*
• Leads to permanency: regular sugaring leads to a significant decrease in amount of hair that grows back after treatments
